Andrea Daru began her career as a conductor at the age of 18 in Budapest. She subsequently received extensive and decisive formation from Tamás Gál and András Ligeti in Budapest and intermittently also advanced her education with Ádám Medveczky, while graduating at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in 2014.
Andrea Daru performed with many different international ensembles and conducted, among others, Philharmonic Orchestra of Győr, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Duna Symphony Orchestra, Concerto Budapest, MÁV Symphony Orchestra, Transylvania Philharmonic Orchestra, and Siam Philharmonic Orchestra. She has got great experience observing Maestro Ádám Fischer, Maestro János Kovács, Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul and Maestro Tamás Vásáry.
Maestra Daru has a wide range interest. Her repertoire includes all classical and romantic works from hungarian and international composers among others works of Bartók and Kodály, the complete Mahler symphonies or pieces of Stravinsky. Operas: Mozart - Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Puccini - Tosca, Rossini - Wilhelm Tell, Strauss - Die Fledermaus, Bartók - Bluebeard’s Castle. Oratorical works: Mozart - Requiem, Verdi - Requiem, Kodály - Psalmus Hungaricus. As of 2015, Andrea Daru is serving as Music Director of the Karcag Symphony Orchestra and also leader the the Vasas Children’s Choir of Budapest.
